Director of Marketing

About We Are Working

We Are Working (WAW) is a full-service staffing company specializing in helping small to midsize businesses hire offshore talent, also known as virtual assistants (VA). Much of our competition is foreign-based companies that do little more than offer a very low hourly rate and connect a company with a VA and leave much of the ‘figuring it out’ up to the client. We Are Working is different in that we are more full service and we layer into the equation rock solid workflow and strong supervision of the VA. We are workflow experts and once we take over a task, all of the operational headaches associated with that task are handled by WAW from that point forward.

We have been in business for over four years and have built a base of customers and are profitable. However, to a large extent, we are still in start-up mode in that we haven’t yet figured out how to bring in leads and convert them. We need a Direction of Marketing to work up to 40 hours per week. You must be the right combination of a strategic leader and hands-on executor because we don’t yet have a full marketing team in place. You should have solid experience in start-ups or turnarounds.

The HR resources we have in place are – a complete staff to handle operations, pool of hundreds of existing offshore VAs, a marketing automation assistant (knows Hubspot/Active Campaign), a P/T content writer, and a 3rd party to handle PPC and SEO.

Operations staff – We have two Account Success Managers and one Account Supervisor who handle onboarding new clients, keeping existing clients happy, and supervising the VAs.

Sales staff – We have a salesperson for meeting with prospects.

Marketing staffMarketing staff – We have a Chief Marketing Officer, a Content Writer, Brand Designer and someone that can handle basic edits to our website, which is in WordPress. We have access to individuals at Achieve Test Prep (a sister company) that could handle more complex website changes.

Virtual Assistant Staff Pool – Because we share staff with Achieve Test Prep, we currently have about 350 current remote employees that can also serve We Are Working clients. About 80% of that staff are located offshore, spread out over 32 different countries. The other 20% are U.S.-based employees. For clarity, most of these employees work for Achieve Test Prep however we can get access to many of the staff on a fractional basis as the need arises.

New staff availability – As we look to grow our marketing, one unique benefit that we have is access to a virtually unlimited number of people to perform tasks. While we may not have people specifically experienced in marketing, we do have very smart, capable workers that can learn something new very quickly. This gives us the ability to throw more time at all kinds of marketing-related tasks.

3rd party relationships – We work with a Hubspot-certified company that handles our SEO and PPC. Our current PPC budget is about $3,500 per month.

Software – We use Hubspot with the Sales Hub and Marketing Hub add-ons. We also have an Active Campaign but do not use it. We use Calendly to handle the online appointments set by our clients. We use Stripe to process payments. We use Sign now to handle our customer contracts.
